Schools have the option of booking a general self-guided visit to Hertfordshire Zoo, alternatively they can choose to take part in one of our education sessions as part of their visit. All details are included in the booking form.

Please note that we are unable to accept bookings for school visits during the school holidays.

Parking at Hertfordshire Zoo is free. In order to accommodate all school groups, please state how many coaches, minibuses or cars you are intending to arrive in.

Hertfordshire Zoo offers both self guided visits and education sessions. Education sessions at Hertfordshire Zoo consist of a 25-minute talk in our education classroom, 'Base Camp'. Our education sessions have a maximum capacity of 30 students per session. Alternatively, why not choose one of our new mini meets where you meet an educator at one of four animal habitats

Education Sessions

Education sessions take place in our education classroom ‘Base Camp' and are restricted to a maximum of 30 students per session. If you have more than one group/class requiring students sessions please ensure you select the correct amount of session times below. We currently have capacity to run one session per time slot. A detailed list of our education sessions can be found by clicking here. Use the boxes below to select your session time and theme.

Mini Meets

Mini Meets are an education option that can be an alternative or addition to our classroom based education sessions. Mini Meets allow you to meet one of our zoo educators at an animal habitat where they will give an exciting and engaging talk about the animal using items such as 3D printed skulls. We offer mini meets at our lion, tiger, penguin and gibbon habitats. Mini Meets for a 10-15 minute talk and have a limit of 30 students. We are unable to offer Mini Meets to classes below Reception.

Hertfordshire Zoo is an inclusive zoo for all. In order for our educators to provide the best learning experience possible for your students, please let us know if your group of students have additional requirements that would support their learning throughout their education session.
